Hatch screws

2 of My port compartment hatch hinge screws popped loose and won’t screw back. What do you recommend filling the holes with before attaching screws again.  Will a epoxy material work. The compartment hatch screws were loose but they tighten down. Just my second sail.

Thickened epoxy will work but perhaps a bolt, washer and nut might be a better idea.  Both of my Lazerette covers have nuts and bolts holding the hinges in rather than screws.  Last year I replaced the nuts with nyloc nuts since the original ones, even with lock washers, would loosen up on the long trip to Florida and back.  If the bolts are too long consider an acorn nut on the end to prevent bleeding issues with your arms and hands.  LOL  Sail On,  Al

They installed screws with backing nuts on the inside hinge holes but just screws on the outer holes. I’ll see if can get some screws and nuts to work. I’ve already put the epoxy in but I think that’s a temporary fix
