I'm out. With the predicted weather for the weekend, we are staying home doing family stuff instead. Have fun everyone!

Storm seems to be shifting more south. Will know more in a couple of hours.

Maybe clearing out for a late Sail to Tices Saturday evening. Fingers crossed and wishful thinking. :)

Ellen and I made it down.  We are at Southwinds until Monday at least.  Sunday may be possible for tices sail.

Found Bob blockading the entrance to forked river.  Beware of the new boat hook....

Sounds like it is going to be a spectacular BBB 11, from what Mas told me was to be the main entertainment event. Enough of these dinghy races. It is rumored that the producers of "Naked and Afraid" are putting Bob23, Rosie O'Donnel, and Chris Christie on a deserted stretch of Long Beach Island to battle to the death! I only hope that it gets recorded from a drone......  No rescue attempts from other Compacters will be permitted. The ultimate winner gets a free six pack of PBR!!! May the best ? win!!!

Ok.....does this weather mean the Bob23, Rosie O'Donnel, Chris Christie naked wrestling match is postponed? They at least otta waive the $3 beach fee!

My goodness is it pouring here now. Picked up two inches in last hour.

Had a great weekend even though it didn't entail any sailing on my part. The Com-Pac Fleet did get out and sail on Thursday & Friday and again on Sunday after the storm. You can't let the forecast dictate the outcome and I think we all proved that. Great Bash, looking forward to 2018! Thanks Bob, Allen, Larry, Brian, Ellen & Lesa!

"Storm or no storm Compac-o-Nauts gather!"

Hi All! Sorry I didn't get to participate, would have loved to be there for sure. But, I actually was there... in spirit. Kevin, an enjoyable video, as always. Thanks for sharing. Bob, I noticed the photo on board Dorothea was a little fuzzy. Were you trying to hide the C**Rs?

Hope to see all at the MWG, if I'm allowed to come!

HI Folks,
I finally got a chance e to edit and post some pictures of the bash.  Even though the storm put a damper on part of the weekend the sailing on Sunday was incredible.  Brian and Ellen, Bob and myself all had a chance to enjoy a day of sailing on the bay.  Bob and I got out on the bay early in the morning and the girls (Madame Z and Koinonia) frolicked with each other for about 3 hours before we stopped for lunch.  The wind was very brisk but we sailed only yards apart, stealing each others wind as we crisscrossed the bay.
Making our way over to Tice's Shoal it became quite apparent that it was going to be an interesting time since Floatchella was well under way.  We attempted to raft-up but there was way to much chop so we both anchored and tied a  line to keep the boats close to each other.  The line also proved useful as it was a means to transfer supplies (beer) over to the Madame where Bob and I enjoyed a magnificent lunch.  The Floatchella, although loud, proved to be somewhat entertaining as we watched hundreds of boats doing "all sorts of wild and crazy things".
After lunch  we pulled the anchors and Bob returned to his home port and I leisurely sail back to Southwinds.  Brian and Ellen made it back to the marina a bit later with stories of a great sail also.
Monday morning after breakfast I pulled the Madame from the bay and packed up for the long trip home.
Many thanks for all that made the weekend possible and a special thanks to Lesa and Kevin for opening up there home for a perfect BBQ.

See you at the MWG,
 Allen

Great coverage and very nice photos. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to draw your attention to photo #1. Please get out your solar eclipse viewing glasses for this as the great ball of fire in the sky is reflected in Allen's highly polished anchor. Rumor has it that it glows in the dark...under water!
We had an incredible time and an exciting sail on Sunday as the winds moderated only a little.
Allen is being kind with his comment about watching hundreds of boats doing all sorts of wild and crazy things. That's true, however there were plenty of powerboat morons out there as well.
It was a true group effort and I would also thank Kev and Lesa for a wonderful BBQ at their casa.

Attached are some screen shots from my gps of our sail together on Sunday.  Bob's comment was that the log looked like the path of a couple of drunken sailors but I'm pretty sure that it is the exact path the we plotted on the charts the night before.......I think.   OK, maybe there were some adult beverages involved that night?  Anyway, it was great fun.
