Com-Pac Chat?
« on: August 21, 2004, 09:43:45 PM »
Anyone interested in this? It's not something I can set up that runs on the site, but what we could do is use IRC (Internet Relay Chat). It's a breeze (no pun intended) to set up a "room" to meet in. In internet terms, IRC has been around forever.

To join in, you would need to install an IRC client program onto your computer. There are clients for Linux, windows, and Mac, all freely available for download off the internet.

Since most people are on windows, FYI: the program is called "mIRC", and is just under 1.3 Megabytes in size. This is less than a 10 minute download on a 56K dial-up connection. I could write up the directions on how you would join the chatroom, to make it easy, if people show interest in doing this. Just let me know...
My other car is a sailboat.
