V-Berth cushions (money well spent)
« on: January 27, 2018, 08:19:28 AM »
New V-berth cushions, just installed and tested on a 7-day trip to Washington, NC.  They are 5 inches thick and fairly dense foam.  Cost was 780$ and is some of the best money spent ever on keeping Windrunner current and comfortable.

Just installed the Aladdin Lamp too, it kept some of the chill out of the cabin on the trip.

Smooth Sailing

They look Nice Charlie.

The new cushions really "freshen" up the look.

Where did you get them?  At the moment, I am making fitted sheets to cover my V berth cushions and a 3 inch memory foam pad.  I figure that is an interim step before new cushions throughout her.

I made a similar investment for my beloved 23 last year. All new cushions with a dense 4" foam covered in a dark green Sunbrella to compliment the teak and the bronze portlights. I don't regret spending the clams although it was more than yours. I had the v-berth cushions made in 2 pieces so I can now get to the enlarged storage areas.

Hey Tom, we bought them from a custom upholstery shop in New Bern, Glen Spenser.  He specializes in custom cars, does a very good job, but takes forever.  Getting the pads made was a 6 month project mostly in a que, however I think that it was worth the wait and price.

Nice job on the berth cushions.  The foam on my boat is getting tired.  Time to think seriously about the new cushions.  I want a swim platform more but  new cushions, all sounds good.  The lantern looks great.  Do you have/need a deflector on the lantern chimney?  I have a wall mount chrome perko lantern and it came with the deflector....

Hey Wayne, Good to hear from you.

We have to set the lamp on the table to use.  It produces too much heat to light up within a foot and a half of overhead cover.  It stores securely in the mount that it is shown in the flick.
