Brown Eyed Girl a 1989 CP19-3

« on: July 20, 2010, 09:54:47 AM »

Hello Everyone,

We are Mark & Diane Hamman and live in Branson, MO.

We sail our 1989 Compac 19-III on Tablerock Lake.

"Brown Eyed Girl" is kept in a slip at State Park Marina and on her trailer in the winter.

This spring we spent a lot of time and gave her a cosmetic makeover so she now looks almost new.

We have enjoyed reading the posts on the forum - Do any other Compac owners ever get to Branson with their boat?

Below are some pictures...

Nice to meet you Mark and Diane.  We recently upgraded from a 16 to a 19/II (1988) which we are also in the process of "prettying up".  They sure are great boats.  Thanks for posting the pics, it is always fun for us to check out the other Com-Pacs out there.  Yours looks to be in really nice shape.

Fair winds,
Mike and Brenda

Real nice 19!  I can see the shine from the pics and know exactly how tough it is to make that happen (see my pics)!

How long have you had her?  And have you taken her anywhere beyond your local lake?

Welcome Mark and Diane.  Great looking 19!

You should get something soon from Bob23 about an initiation fee and a requirement that you wax all other Compacs within a 500 mile radius. I think I may be in that circle.  May be something about providing beer for the owner  while you're waxing, I can't remember, Bob23 probably has it written down.Smiley

Ok - I'm officially computer illiterate...  I can't figure out how to find other peoples first names.

So - To Salty19,  This is our 1st year with the CP19, I have been "boatless" for 10 years (ever since we moved from Mpls/St Paul to Branson, MO).
We use to sail our C & C 27 on the St Croix River, which divides MN & WI.  I thought the 19 would be the right size for our local lake, but already have the fever to move up to a 23 or 27.
I purchased BrownEyedGirl in Kansas City last winter - she needed work.  I love the CP traditional look (probably because I'm old).

To Brackish - Hmmm... if you bring her to Tablerock Lake at Branson we could maybe trick one of my sons into a "wax on - wax off" lesson.

Best to all - Mark
