Bob,
Count me in.
Last time I was there I launched at the Marina at Southwinds. Is that the same marina where we are renting the slips?  If so is there any advantage to going over to Townsends to launch?

I'm not sure where you launched last year, Allen. I don't remember Southwinds having a ramp. Just for clarity, Townsends is toward the west, Southwinds is more easterly on the Forked River. But to answer your question, you are free to launch where it best suits you.
So if I'm reading you, you want a slip for Friday night. I'll be taking one also. Last year it was kind of fun seeing the "Reserved for Koinonia" sign on the slip. I'm sure most people were expecting a large yacht with important people to show up. Surprise!!!!

Bob,

Know we can talk more at the CBMSG event next Saturday, but what is generally the agenda for the BBB? I know we will not be bringing No Mas as she may even be spoken for by then. Not enough time to consider moving the PSC up there and be back in time for a festival that requires our attention the next week by mid week. So if we, or me, can spring to get up there will not having a boat kinda mean sitting in a bar waiting for the ships to come in? Not that that is a terrible thing to do! Usually the boat is our lodging so would need some suggestions about places to stay as well. It kinda sounds like a boating event and not sure being sans boat would be a good idea?

As far as your observation:

Yup, may not be  a large yacht but clearly important people on board!

Ah, the advantages of being a CP16 skipper - only 32 bucks! That's the cost of a dinner at The Captain's Inn. Last year, I slept on the hard Friday night and was not quite miserable. Next night, slept like a baby rocking away in Pegasus' slip at Latitudes. As far as splitting the fee, Bob, a Dark & Stormy should fill the bill quite nicely.

I like the idea of having breakfast early Saturday morning. I seem to remember that there is a floating concession at Tice's, so you don't have to worry about running out of cold PBR.

Looking fwd to seeing and meeting all,

Marty K.

Bob,
In the event I choose to stay a few extra days I'm just confirming that we are talking about the same place. This is where I launched from (it was 2 years ago).

 http://www.marinaatsouthwinds.com/

The ramp is just behind their fuel dock. $5 in $5 out also, at that time.

Also confirming that the dates are still August 19 through 21. Correct?

I have to agree with Marty about splitting the Friday night fee.  A very nice gesture but unnecessary. You may have to introduce me to that Dark and Storm thingy thou.....

Thanks for your efforts.

Yes Allen, you are correct. I wasn't aware (or forgot) that you launched there. I will call and confirm about this on Monday but if that's the deal, then it's sure more convenient than Townsends. And, yes- August 19-21 are the dates. Thanks for the info, Allen. That's a big help.
As far as the compensation thing, my offer still stands. If anyone wants to substitute a Dark and Stormy instead, that is even better.
We could do breakfast on Saturday morning but we'd need to drive to a diner- no breakfast is offered at Lattitudes. We have a few weeks yet so a discussion can be started here. I could go either way. Sail to Tices, eat there. Or eat first and sail to Tice's What say ye merry men??

One year we went to the Colonial Diner and had a blast. FR diner is fine but small if we have a large group. Almost anywhere is ok if can get an early start sailing!!!!

Well I'm sure breakfast won't mean an early start. Maybe it's just donuts from the Waretown Bakery! :D

Like last year, I'm planning to drive up Sat morning, launch, and then hopefully meet up with the rest of the gang.

Glad you are going to make it!!! This is shaping up to be another Bash to remember...or forget, whatever your perspective is. I believe this is number 10? Kev can fill us in on this one as a little known fact: he is the original instigator and originator of the Bash.

BashNews:
Sean, the harbormaster at Southwinds tells me the ramp fee there is 10 clams in and  10 clams out. But if the ramp user also rents a slip, he'll waive the ramp fee. I still need a count of slips needed, the boat name and name of the boat owner. So what say ye, merry mates?

Bob,
That would be Allen H. with the Madame Z.
I will call the harbormaster to make arrangements for extra nights.

Thanks,
Allen

Hi everyone,

I've been watching this year's BBB thread with some jealousy.  Turns out I will be not far away in Barnegat NJ during the Bash, but I'm "babysitting" my 92 year old dad at my brother's house while he is away for the weekend.  So sailing is not in the cards for me.

I've been silent because I know I can't actually go all the way to Tice's shoal.  However, in case my dad's sleeping and I can sneak out, you just may see me hanging around the docks or restaurant Friday evening or Saturday morn.  Then again, maybe I can drag him to the docks in the interest of having him "get some fresh air"?

Anyway, in case I don't see you all, have a wonderful trip, and I pray for less crazy wind than you had last year!
