Well Bob, they had a ton of beer the last event so......you can try! Sure might make the dinghy event interesting!

There is a slight chance the Admiral may be attending, despite the fact that she doesn't like boats or drink any alcohol. A real party animal, this one!!!

As we get closer to the date we will need to get a head count for the sailing club so food and beverage can be figured. If the weather is crazy hot or rainy we can still move it to Willaby's but with the shaded and covered pavilions it will have to be pretty miserable for us to not have a great time! What I am hearing sounds like:

Peter and Becky
Rick and Susan
Kevin and "the admiral"   haven't met her yet
Bob and "the admiral"     haven't met her yet either!
Tim G and ?
Larry and ?
Dave and ?
Heave and ?

Weigh in all, there's cold beverage, grill out, dingy, kayak trip, camaraderie and general mayhem planned!

Becky is in Ohio that weekend- I might attend if everyone burns their sails and revs their motors.

Hmmmm!

So we definitely need some Admirals so Susan has company of similar rank!

Not sure the Admiral will be attending. We were hoping Becky would be there. We've been friends with Pedro and Becky since the very first Barnegat Bay Bash and while they were living in NJ, we enjoyed many pizzas and much wine together. While I question the wisdom in their choice of friends, we love getting together with them...if we only could!!!

Maybe I could get a girlfriend to come down with me...BAMM!!!! Ouch...Careful with that Ax, Linda!!!!

Tell me more about the dingy races. Should I bring the Adirondack Guideboat or the Walker Bay 8?

I think the main part of the race will be to see who can get into their dingy first without capsizing it after the initial beer greetings! Bob, there is no organized dingy race as far as who can get somewhere first. Locklies has some nice islands just off the channel that are fun to explore, easy to get to, and a chance to play on the water. Bring whichever craft you would like to bring. We just acquired a very used (think antique!) sailing/rowing dingy that is not gunna win any races. I think I heard Dave and maybe Tim are bringing kayaks? Kevin is taking about bringing his new dinghy. Peter has kayaks and he and Becky have used them to kayak over to Merrior and Regent from their home.

Is the guideboat the craft you have hoped to row to Tangier with someday?

As far as the Admiral goes, know Becky will miss this one but Linda will certainly have company!

As it happens, Vicki has been asked to address the convention attendees of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in Savannah GA.  We will therefore be unable to make it to the CBMSG on Saturday.  Sorry Dave!

This last year has had its ups an downs for us, we're sorry to have to miss this event - would have been one of the ups.

Indeed the Guideboat aka "Straggler" is the craft I'd like to row to Tangier if I can ever get this monkey called "work" off my back.

Darn it Bob!  Work is something that you are supposed to do in moderation!

I really wish I could have sailed Saga down there for the gathering but that would be impossible with my schedule lately.  I haven't seen Saga in over a month.  It is a sad thing.

I don't have any cool rowing crafts other than my inflatable kayak.  Still, I have a feeling that, as the weather has been going, it will be 100 degrees out there.  Ugh!

Hey Heave, Imma plannin on it being great weather till it isn't! Got that plan B. There are kayaks and canoes available so small craft are afoot!

We have also been kinda absent from the boat lately as life has held us close, but we tend to not plan on tons of summer sailing. Been there done that!

It's mostly about a chance to have camaraderie and an excuse to be around boats. :)

Well Bob, if ever you do the Tangier row, consider us on board for a companion vessel.

Will do, Rick. I'm serious about the Tangier row. I need to gather more info but I've been looking at charts. I'll gather more info about a launch site at the CBMSG. A companion vessel would be a great idea and it'd be fun to hang out on Tangier.
