2/11/17 now has three votes as the date for the CBMWG 2.0 epic gathering. I'm hearing Tim, Bob23 and Mas.

According to my future cast of my schedule I am off that day.  I will be planning to attend to now, barring anything crazy.

Lately it has been crazy.  I did 20+ hours of Overtime in the past two weeks.  This included teaching a General Instructor Development course at the Regional Police Academy, organizing and training everyone for the annual departmental firearms training and qualifications, writing two squads worth of evaluations, Field training a new officer, and the normal calls for service.

Hopefully we can find a good place.  Then we need to make sure that all of the kegs are full because Bob23 has a tendency to finish the kegs of the good beer and leave us to the brew of the Creatons.

This is shaping up nicely and I hope that new member Wayne J can attend...so we have someone to stick the bill to!!!!  Regarding Heave's comment about me, I've embarked on a new career: I am now a Trappist Monk so all I do is sit around all day and talk to God while drinking Belgium Ale. Hey, it's a tough job but someone's got to do it!
  Looking forward to 2/11/17.

Darn!!!!  Someone needs to come up with a Brewery on the water with slips.  Oh, they need to brew stuff other than those darn IPA's.  Blah!

It would be cool to have one in Deltaville.  I would sail down there a heck of a lot more often if that was the case.  I have heard of wineries around the water but no breweries.

Better yet, have the brewery in an area where you can anchor.  That will keep most of that powerboat crowd out since they don't like anchoring that much!  LOL.  All they would need is a dingy dock and deep water!

Well, i have the date now as 2/11/17.

Tim, you did say that was good for you guys as you will be back from the lower latitudes? So will count you and Vicky as down? The price for moving the date will be souvenirs for all of us from the islands. Bro Bob, will i am sure, suggest bottles of rum for all and i will second that!

Heave, I had suggested Willabys so check them out. On water, mucho beers, varied and modestly priced menu. As far as why few breweries on the water, well it's the water! The major ingredient in beer is water. As most of us are aware the ground water along coasts is, well.......terrible, in short supply or both, thus only larger metro areas with a good water, sewer systems can support any larger scale brewing. The best beers are usually from areas with excellent water to begin with, thus why Colorado led the craft beer movement for many years.

Bro Bob, you are more than welcome to try to empty the kegs at Willabys, they have dozens of taps! I'll be helping as well.  :)

This may be the first week we have not been out sailing since the fall season began.......I dunno, something about needing to vote Tuesday, we play music on Thursday, a brewery beer release party with friends Saturday, and a goodby gathering for a friend heading to Hawaii (yeah i know let's all feel sorry for her!) at a winery on Sunday. Hopefully will get out next week as the season is rapidly becoming winter.......and time for CBMWG 2.0!

Well we did make it out actually several more times but just before Thanksgiving Interlude got most of her cloth removed, Mas, after a last sail, came home with me and now lives on our farm in full view of the Shenandoah National Park, where i am sure she's wondering where all the water went! Spent last few days up in West Virginia and then up on the mountain here where they are blowing snow like crazy (my favorite kind of winterizing!), so wont be long now! Meanwhile it is back to sea level today to finish Interlude's winterizing (not my favorite kind) in preparation for hauling next week. What all this means is......it's now officially the end of sailing season here for us and the beginning of winter season and ever closer to CBMWG 2.0!

Wayne J. and myself might try to hook up down at the 'Rivah', over the next couple, as a sort of pre CBMWG which i guess makes it a CBEWG! One of the discussions we more than likely will be having is the massive fee restructuring and job title reassignments that have been proposed lately on this august forum! So Bob, Tim, et al, we newbs are gunna shake things up, CBMWG 2.0 will be epic! Stay tuned and mark the calendars all.  :)

Ya know what December 21 is right?! Winter begins and the middle of it appears to be around 2/11/17, well actually a little before that but we needed to adjust so Tim can go play in the tropics! So if it is winter, and it is the mid-lish part of it, and on the the Chesapeake Bay, and people gather together for food, fun and fraternity (well sorority too!) and they have done this before then it must be CBMWG 2.0 time!

Mark those calendars, dust off the winter apparel, practice the sailing stories, prepare for a possible shake up in job descriptions and fee structure, and ready yourselves for....well details soon to follow after the solstice! Winter however has not wished to wait till then as it will hit a high temperature of 12 up on the mountain tomorrow.

I was just mentioning this to the Admiral. She displayed her normal level of enthusiasm which is too say it was just a half a notch above totally ignoring me. Ha!!!!
But I'll be there. I've been reminded lately by a friend how short life is. And if I remember correctly, one of you characters owes me a truckload of Guinness!

Might be time to turn Susan loose!

As far as the Guiness truck, might be kinda hard to get the local distributor to give one up for the weekend.......so it looks like we will just have to hi-jack one. Must admit though, just put an Irish dry porter from Champion Brewery on tap, a special holiday brew, 8.2 ABV and way tooooo drinkable. Sure could make a habit of that, thankfully only brewed for the holiday season then gone.

Well still up here on the mountain and not sure what I'm gunna do with all the longer day light hours today!  :)

That beer sounds yummy! Whilst out with the Admiral last Saturday and having lunch at the Smithville Inn, to what didst my eyes appear? But a beer I'd never heard of before. Harviestoun from Scotland "Old Engine Oil" Black Ale. With such an intriguing name, I had to try it and was it ever fantastic! "Viscous, chocolately, roasty" says the label and they weren't kidding. I'd be hard pressed to choose between this and Guinness.

CBMWG 2.0 is coming!!!

Date:  2/11/17

Time: up for discussion, see the websites below for hours of operation and menus

Location: I had suggested Willabys as the menu is varied and modestly priced, mucho taps, on the water. Merrior is also right across the river and is an exceptional place to eat, great taps and wine selection, on the water, but can be expensive. It is one of our favorite places to go. I have included both websites for your perusal. Either is just fine with us so would rather let you guys give some input as a result. Spend some time looking and weigh in!

 http://www.willabys.com/cafe/index.htm
 https://www.rroysters.com/restaurants/merroir

The last CBMWG took place for lunch on a Saturday. We can surely make that happen again or choose dinner. Lunch seemed to be the choice for the daylight hours of driving. If folks wish to make it a weekend there are many things to do around the area. We are planning to spend the night and make a day of it on Sunday as well.

Last years partners in crime included Bob23, Heave Too, Pedro and Becky, Tim G, Kevin, myself and Susan. We are hoping to get some more of the admirals this year as well and will be lobbying for a couple of you that we know are in the area to be seen in public with us. That does mean the end of any respectability but hey a small price to pay! We don't wanna mention any names Citroen Dave, Wayne J., et al, but may be borrowing Bob's cousins to delver the invites! Have also included the follow-up discussion to last years event. Names have been kept the same to identify the guilty!
